We realise that we will never be able to replace our residents’ own homes. However, we are the next best place to be. Our staff are respectful, courteous and sensitive to our residents’ needs at all times.

From the outset we have always tried to provide a happy and secure environment, within which the privacy and independence of our residents is respected and promoted at all times. We take great pride in introducing you to Willowdale Residential Home, where our highly skilled team members are in tune with the daily needs of each resident.
Visiting
Family members and friends are welcome to visit as and when they wish. Drinks and snacks are always available, and we are happy to provide meals for visitors by prior arrangement.
Home and Grounds
Willowdale Residential Home is registered as a 26 bed residential home, offering long-term residential care, respite, daycare and short-term stays. We care for the elderly on a residential basis, and for people with milder forms of dementia.
The range of accommodation consists of spacious single and companion rooms. All rooms also have an emergency carer call system, and are decorated tastefully. There are several communal areas, including two lounges and a dining room, a summer gazebo on the patio, and easy access to landscaped gardens. Residents are welcome to enjoy afternoon tea within the gardens. We have abundant wildlife that visits throughout the year.
The communal lounges host a variety of activities, such as reminiscence therapy, poetry, pet therapy and musical therapy.

Personal Care
Our 24-hour staffing ensures that personal assistance and support with washing, dressing, bathing and continence needs is always available.
Staffing
The home has a team of qualified care staff, and it is the policy of the home to provide quality person-centred care that is underpinned by quality training. This ensures that care and skills are kept at the highest possible level. We also have support services staff members, who carry out laundry, kitchen, domestic and maintenance duties.
Pets
Residents are encouraged to bring their own favourite items to personalise their rooms. Small pets may also be acceptable, at the Home Manager’s discretion.
Food
Willowdale offers appetising, fresh and wholesome home-cooked food. While many residents enjoy our rotating menu, our commitment to personalised care ensures that special dietary requirements and personal choice are well catered for. We encourage residents to discuss this with us.
Regular hot/cold drinks and snacks are available throughout the day.
Transport
We have our own minibus to use for residents outings, particularly in the warmer months. We have enjoyed trips out to local attractions across Wales and England, including Chester Zoo, the hills of Llandudno, and many more places. All of our residents are encouraged to put forward their suggestions for where they would like to go.
Activities
We encourage our residents to participate in as many activities as they wish. Tailored activity plans incorporate the residents’ interests and hobbies.
Domestic Services
All clothing and bed linen are cleaned by our laundry team. We request that each resident’s belongings are clearly marked, preferably with sewn in labels.
Basic mending is also included in the fees.
Chiropody
We have a visiting chiropodist, who will attend to the residents’ feet where needed. This service is billed separately, and is not included in the fee.
Newspapers
Any newspapers or magazines can be provided from our local newsagent at the residents’ own cost.
Hairdressing
Willowdale has a hairdresser who visits on a weekly basis.
